Patient Safety Community

The final aspect of the program is a unique Web-based learning tool, the Patient Safety Interactive Learning Community (PSILC; pronounced "silk"). Designed by physicians with specialties in education and patient safety, PSILC allows program participants to review the CME course on-line, answer self-assessment questions with answers hyperlinked to the appropriate information in the CME materials, and participate in on-line discussions on patient safety issues. The Learning Community is a powerful knowledge reinforcement tool and aids physicians in their individual efforts to improve safety. These tools will be available to patient safety CME participants in April 2002.
