Physician Industry Relations
The ACP Ethics, Professionalism and Human Rights Committee recently developed, and the Board of Regents approved a revision in College policy on industry gifts, hospitality, services and subsidies as articulated in Position 1 of the position paper Physician-Industry Relations. Part 1: Individual Physicians . The revised policy is announced in a Letter to the Editor in the March 20, 2007 issue of the Annals of Internal Medicine. Questions should be directed to lsnyder@acponline.org.
In March 2002 a two-part paper on physician-industry relations was released. The first part is intended to serve as a guide for physicians, and the second part is aimed at offering recommendations to medical education providers and medical professional societies. Both Part I and Part II are available to view below.
