International Reception

8:30 - 10:00 p.m.
This year, the reception will take place immediately following the Convocation Ceremony, from 8:30 – 10:00 p.m., and a lighter fare will be served (a selection of cheeses, crudités, beer, and wine). Plan to come to the International Reception to meet and network with your colleagues and enjoy a light refreshment before heading out for dinner.

For your convenience, there will be two restaurant reservation booths in the convention center – one on the Ceremonial Level (shuttle drop off) and Level 200.

The Global Burden of the Migration of Physicians

The panel will discuss how the migration of physicians is affecting global health using an international faculty. The course will cover immigration health issues, movement of health care professionals, and issues with the brain drain of physicians from developing countries. The disease implications caused by the movement of people will also be discussed.
The Historical Contributions of India to Modern Medicine

This Meet the Professor course will discuss the historical contributions of India to Western Medicine. It will combine not only history, much of which is little known to many physicians, as well as a fascinating medical/historical quiz.
This workshop is the second in a planned multi-year series presented under the sponsorship of the International Council, on "Contributions of Multiple Global Cultures to Modern Medicine".
